Salisterra, Hong Kong

High-definition audio for Salisterra at Upper House Hong Kong — custom-finished Amadeus monitors, concealed subs and five daily presets, delivered by DEN STUDIO in two phases in 2024.

Upper House, Swire Hotels’ flagship, asked DEN STUDIO to raise the musical experience at Salisterra without compromising the room. The challenge was world-class hi-fi in a visually dominant space: floor-to-ceiling windows, fine architectural detail, and a strict aesthetic brief. Work was completed in 2024 in two phases — Phase 1 for the main dining room, Phase 2 for the bar, Green Room and private dining room.

Amadeus monitors, French-designed, were custom-painted and fitted with matching fabric grilles so each zone follows its own palette. In the Green Room the speakers are green, in line with the room. A mix of 5-inch and 4-inch monitors surrounds every seat, time-aligned so the sources read as one soundscape. In the private dining room, Danish Cornered Audio speakers were chosen for dispersion that sits with the richer interior. Quest and Amadeus subwoofers are recessed into custom furniture for full-range bass without visual bulk. Speakers are suspended in the language of the lighting design, for placement, envelopment and clarity.

A scheduler runs five daily presets, from light morning music to warmer evening surround and higher-energy sound for Boiler Room DJ nights in the Green Room. Staff spend less time on manual changes. Delivered on time and on budget, with after-sales support, the system adds detail and depth to the room and the harbour view without competing with either.
